Award Time

James and Alark
I was recently given the award for Outstanding Graduating Senior from the Computer Science Department at Boise State.

I was very happy and surprised to have received it. I really enjoyed my time as an undergraduate there and am very thankful for all of the professors, friends and family that made graduation possible. I would especially like to thank Alark Joshi for his advice as an advisor and research associate. He inspired me to achieve and do more than I would have thought possible.

A description of my Summer 2013 adventures and research opportunities

This past summer I was back at Oak Ridge National Lab for another round of exploits. The previous summer was very successful with a great project and conference paper as a result.

The work that I undertook at Oak Ridge was an environmental data project. The project aimed to present very useful environmental pollutant data to researchers and the curious alike.  The mapping went very well and can be fully integrated with Google Earth as the display medium.

To give you an idea of what some of the mapping looks like, take a look at the maps in the slide show below. If you would like to see more of the project, entitled EnviroPlot, please find the page under PROJECTS.
